i was completely relaxed for the entire race, i sat right on kevin's shoulder for the first 500m, and made a move and ran the next 200m in the lead, kevin made a move on me with 200 to go, and i made another move on him with 150 to go and dropped the hammer. i had fresh legs from a great week of tapering.. i felt like i was running a 200m race when i made the final surge. didn't feel so hot after i finished, but a definite success
Nice job this week guys! Everything went well it seemed. I wish that boldt would have been able to go slightly faster and make the decisions for nationals really easy, but I think all will work out. Jonathan, you forgot to mention that you also had a fieldhouse record, you modest sonofabitch.
Steady improvement so that is good. Went out faster today. Felt decent through 600. My only problem now is not enough strength to finish.
It felt good to improve my time and to win my heat. i feel i could have went faster given people to chase. But i'm excited to improve and am looking forward to next meet where i will break 2.
