boldt and i took the race out and we FOUGHT for position, i thought there was going to be a huge fall for the lead pack, but we managed to take positions 1 and 2 and hold them until there was 100 meters left when adam steele overtook us both, and some other kid overtook me. I would have liked to run faster today, but i could not find the turnover in the final lap which is quite depressing.

Quite simply one of the worst races of my life. I ran the first two laps in lane 2 cause I couldnt get in at all. I got out slow and stayed slow the whole race. My last 100m was atrocious. First race in a long time but was hoping for a little better. Improvement should come relatively soon, but this race was absolutely embarassing.

i thought i was going to sit and kick for this race, but that didn't work out. the other guys went out pretty slow so i took the lead right away. i felt great for the first 600. i pushed the second lap a bit too hard and it hurt me i think. i was passed by a st. olaf guy with 200 to go, i fought to stay with him until the last 100 when i felt apart. my legs just wouldn't go, it may have been because of tough workouts this week and the cold i've had this last week. anyway i was on pace for a 1:58 until the last 100. i know i can hold that pace next time.
