was happy with how the race played out. just sat behind mouse till the end. not sure of the splits except the 400 was 56, so we ran the race fairly even. both at the start and the 450 mark when i tried to accelerate i just felt like my legs took a while to respond to my desire. possibly due to the cold, rain and not the best warm-up conditions. recovered quick and legs felt good on the cold down. think some more workouts at near race pace and some warmer weather will prepare myself to respond sooner and faster in the race.
pretty happy with how things went. the time is nothing spectacular but i think it was a good start given the conditions and what not. i felt really good throughout the race which is promising. i felt relatively comfortable and relaxed coming home...which is a big difference than indoors. my legs just wouldnt go faster towards the end even though i felt pretty good. hopefully we will get a little more leg speed in the next couple of weeks, then get ready to run some good times.
