Monday Workout in Hixon

The boys of semi-speed, semi-endurance rolled up to Hixon forest today for a little fartlek-like jaunt through the lower section of the trees. Four repeats of around 65 seconds up the hill on the 600 meter loop were good enough to call it a day. Two mile warm up, two mile cool down and a few 150 meter strides back at the track made our workout pleasant and profitable.

Everything felt good today until I headed back to the track. Though the 150 accels were not anything to complain about, my calves began to tighten after the second one and, so, I decided to hang up my shoes for the day. I'm feeling confident about the big weekend at Drake, though I'm a little frightened by the mumps talk... I hope TB doesn't screw us over with a volatile disease again!

i would say that (in hixon) my legs felt a little weird today, probably due to the new terrain.

once i got on the track, and running with the wind, everything felt great.

drake relays. mmmmm.

I made sure I didn't push too hard in Hixon because I'm still trying to get over this cold. I felt okay but I keep coughing a lot and stuff. However I'm starting to feel better and i'm excited for the meet this weekend.

It was nice to go up into Hixon. The first loop felt a little weird but the next 3 felt awesome. We ran to the track and hit three 150's. I hit the first 2 in 21 and the last one in 19. The day felt pretty nice. I'm gonna call it 6 miles today.
