Thursday - 6 miles

We began with a 3 mile warmup to the site of the Phil Esten Finnish workout grounds. The first Finnish was in about 49 seconds, and the second was in 46 seconds, probably a PR. Kudos to Tom who ran some fine hills today, in the very low 50s. Big improvement, and very promising indeed. We did a 2 mile cool-down to the track to do 5 grueling 150s (avg of 21-22 seconds)

I felt really crappy on the warm up run. It just felt like I was trying way to hard. I felt good once the workout started though. About 48.2 for the first uphill and about 45.8(fastest) for the second uphill. I was definitely running hard but I was running within myself and concentrating on form. Then we hit the track for the 150's which were fine. Decently fast pace starting to pick it up after the first 50m. Afterwards we jogged the field loop for a cool down. Felt good for the most part today. Legs a little tired right now but that is probably to be expected.

This was probably about 7.5 miles today. My total miles so far this week is 22.

I felt okay during the hills, but I felt like I was maybe pushing a bit too hard. The 150s went well however, my right shin started to hurt a little after the workout. I iced and hopefully it isn't anything serious.

my right leg feels like the femur is detached, i have had this feeling before, and it started bothering me after tuesday's workout, probably from sitting in my chair on sunday all day, but i still had to finish that paper so i stayed up all tuesday and wednesday morning. it still doesn't feel so good, so i'll have to try stretching it out

Things went well today. Our running as of late has been very intense and exceptionally beneficial as far as I can tell. I feel really good about my fitness level right now and am looking forward to our first competition. Its been a great time running hard with the guys these last two weeks and I can tell that there has been drastic improvement for everyone. It will be a fun outdoor season.
