First Day of Outdoor
After a highly successful indoor season track and field moves into the big arena. MD guys Boldt, Otto, Hummer, Mouse, and TB sauntered over to 29th street hill for a little strength work. They were greeted by 70 members of the women's team who were all doing a similar workout... Props to Pat Healy on fantastic coaching.

I thought the repeats went really well. It was interesting running through the gauntlet of finely tuned female athletes. The rest of the run was alright, but my legs were pretty tight. I'm hoping to get into the training room at some point this week and get stretched out or an ice tub. I am very happy to finally be an official member of the team again. You guys are nice, its good to see everyone.
After 2 weeks of very little up-tempo training it feels great to get back into the swing of things. Still this workout was not easy and I was definitely struggling to the top of the hill. We got up the hills in 40 39, 38, and avg of 39 on the last one. It felt great to get some higher mileage (5 - hA!) with the team.
I felt pretty good on the hills, but I was dead for the rest of the run. I didn't eat all that much earlier that day so that probably played a part.
The hills went suprisingly well. We started off at a pretty moderate pace and each one got a little faster. I felt pretty good during those 4. We then ran 4 miles afterward. The first 2 miles my legs were tired. The last 2 miles I felt pretty good. I think the whole day went rather well.
