Well, the MD crew attempted to qualify at the Oshkosh last-chance meet on Monday and were greeted with pain. Some things went our way, some things did not - so is life, so is track.

I felt pretty good throughout the race. Leading the entire thing was not my idea of fun, nor was it my plan, but I just figured something had to be done. I was pleased with the first two 200's but the 3rd and 4th were not too top-notch and it caught up to me. The wind was a bigger factor than I had originally thought it might be, and taking control of a race is tougher than I remembered. Though I didn't put up a time that will get me to the show, I did feel good about the effort I gave and was pleased that myt strength held out long enough to finish the last 200 is just over 30. I look forward to redemption and a rabbit on thursday.
I'm unhappy about not breaking two but I know I went out there and gave it my best. Going out in 56 was a bit too fast for me. I am confident that I will break 2 on thursday. I am going to go out in 57.5 and be sure to finish the last 100 meters. If I do that I know I will be happy with my race.
great execution today folks. we planned a race and actually followed through. unfortunately some of us were not quite ready for that high of a performance.
do you believe in biorhythms? I was at +100% during conference where i ran a 156, midline for this meet at a 154.66, and will be at -100% for the last meet of the season. HA!
I feel that I went out too hard. The continued discussion and analysis of splits is driving me crazy but it seems so important for the 800m race. i went out in 54.0 (i heard 53.5 and 54.5 from someone else) and in the last 100m it was absolute lock up.
its demoralizing to be with the lead runner with 200 to go and absolutely lose control of your body. at that point it is not a matter of will, it was a matter of the actual physical limitations of my body.
we'll give 'er a 'nother shot on thursday
