pretty embarrassing race. first time in four years to not make finals isnt really what i expect of myself. led the first 450, splits i heard were (:27, :56), then got passed and tried my best to pick up the pace and repass but the energy, strength, and ability were just not there and i couldnt finish.
legs were tight the whole day and got worse during the warm up. lots of explanations can be made, but fact is im not physically able to run fast again yet. i dont plan on biking anymore cause if anything it hurts my quads and hamies more than it helps my shins and calves. i also plan on not running hard on the track on monday, it is the sprinting that aggravates my legs and keeps them from fully recovering so one less day of 150's on the track will hopefully help.
pretty disappointing. no reason i shouldnt have made the finals. felt pretty good for most of the race. got out in 25hi, through the 400 in 54. whitewater kid passed me going into third lap. i stuck on him to go through in 1:24. i felt good until going around first turn in the last lap. i kid cut in front of me and then i started losing momentum which i could not regain.
dmr was pretty whatever. i had a sizable lead when i got the stick. my legs were dead in the last 400. when i finished i figured i ran 2:02. Apparently i ran 1:57 but there is nothing special about that.
i was on call for the 4X4 in the unlikely event that they could not get four other 400 runners to run it. 10 minutes before the race i got the go ahead. ran 50.7, not bad but nothing special.
