The second set of 400's was cut short due to all of the crew feeling very fatigued and having to strain too hard to run the first 54.

i was shocked at how hard it was to run the first 56's, my legs were still very sore and just could not get the turn over that i wanted. also in the second set i was actually at 55, mouse and otto gaped me a little, so i was glad when the idea of only a 250 on the next one was brought up. didnt feel the speed that i usually have.
i was worried during the first set, especially rep 2 in 57 but felt like 55. could we run that fast? yes but it felt very wrong, maybe we just forgot how these things feel.
somehow adam managed to get us through in 54 low in the 2nd set, i think we were in the zone.
i wont make any conclusions about our speed until after at least one 800 race
i feel like we were using an aerobic system to run 57's with a little anaerobic at the end, i dont know if that's possible, but that's what it felt like, no activation of anaerobic
not at all what i expected today. i was shocked how hard it felt to run 56.6 on the first one. my legs were fatigued already and i was only able to respond with a 56.9 on the second one. this work out was definitely a wake up call, but i am very glad that we did it. it was very encouraging that i was able to run 54 on the third 400, but i was very tired afterwards.
i disagree with otto on the aerobic/anaerobic theory. i definitely believe that we tapped the anaerobic system today. i also believe that this is one of the first times we have done so in a workout this year, and that is why it felt difficult.
we plan to make a few modifications to our program. with the minor changes we should be able to address our weaknesses.
overall, i think it was a good day that will prove to be very beneficial shortly down the road.
