The Big TT

How did the time trial go fellas? I'm sitting in Buffalo waiting by my computer in anticipation of the results...
My predictions:
Bauers Project - 1:43.51
BowDown - 2:06.22
AK47 - 2:07.99
Ottoman - DNF

I'd bet a Cellar sub that I was right on the money.

great run, got out in the back of the pack, felt very confident in pace. 400m into the race i wanted to throw down like it was an 800.

maintained into lap 3 where the bus was slowing down to a standstill, at the 1000m mark i followed boldt into lane 2 to start passing some of the pack.

lap 4 the bus is out of gas, boldt takes off i follow, mouse comes from beneath the ashes and turns on the afterburners. the tri-force makes their move.

boldt dominatrixes his way to 2nd place with a pizzi, i follow close behind, mouse soon after literally stomping the track at 400 race pace sounding like a juggernaut

overall, i think the race went fine, especially considering this is a whole new experience for me. i was very conservative during the race because i was afraid of dying. I dropped from the pack almost immediately. I ran basically the whole race by myself. My third lap was rather slow. Then, all of the sudden it was the last lap, fortunately I moved decently well over the last 400m and passed several people and finished in 4:33.

Looking back on the race, I regret dropping off the pack right away. I think that I should have finished closer to Boldt and Otto. However, this is a learning experience and I think I did ok for my first time out.

8 total miles today putting me at 26 for the week so far.

It definately felt wierd running an 800, especially with only one other guy. I didn't know i started too fast until I heard 27 at the 200. Still felt okay coming by in 57 at the 4, but i knew the pain would come. I came by the 600 at around 1:29-1:30 i think. Then everything locked up.
I had hoped to run at least 2:00 and i think I would have if I hadn't gone out too fast.

Overall i'm glad I got that first 800 out of the way. I will run the mile on tuesday to go for a PR and build some confidence.

I know my chances to make the team are slim, it just comes down to the last trial. I need to run a 1:57. With some speed work before that, i'm confident that I can do it.
