On a wonderful 50 degree first day back we went out on a ten mile run.
After 3+ miles of warm-up we completed a 10 min. AT
Followed with 10 mins. of cool down and a bathroom break
2 sets of Gershler fartlecs
Then finished with about 1 mile of cool down

the AT felt horrible due to stomach pains, but after the bathroom stop the rest of the run wasnt too bad. the legs were tired when done. hardest thing we have done besides race in about 3 or 4 weeks.
i am having some kind of stomach problem, we'll call it. i felt like crap the whole run despite going to the bathroom.
i did about 5 pickups total.
havent run 10 miles in awhile, and havent done anything uptempo for two weeks, but overall i think today went pretty well. definitely better than i expected.
the AT felt pretty good. for the first 5min i questioned whether i could even run uptempo for 10min, however, i felt great the last 5min and began to pick it up towards the end. according to googlemaps we ran 5:40 pace.
the gershlers went pretty well. at first i was uncertain on what pace to run since we havent done this workout before. once we got into it, i think we were moving pretty well. it was definitely a good workout.
sore tonight as expected. the workout today was a shock to the system, but it felt good.
