Its August!

Well, with the coming of the 8th month, training should be underway with some decent consistency and mild intensity. I just ran the Boston Mud Run last night in a little town south of Buffalo. It was the most difficult, sloppiest cc course I had ever seen. 6K of absolute mud and hills. I ran about a 21:40, which means nothing. More importantly I had one of the greatest times of my life in a running situation. I was laughing uncontrollably and falling on my face in mud holes that we're up to my knees... so sweet. Hope everyone is feeling well and avoiding the dramatic heat.
This is me after the end of the mud run. Just so you have photographic proof that I'm alive and well.

LOL hummer that picture is awesome. But anyway the heat hasn't been too bad here for the last week. I ran another 5k on saturday but it didn't go as well as i'd hoped. I got excited and lead the first mile in like 5:18. By the last mile my legs just wouldn't go anymore and I ended up running 18:15. I don't think that reflects what I really can do. It was just a combination of staying up til 2 in the morning the night before and then going out too fast that hurt me.

However my training will be cut back for two weeks coming up here. I'm going down to Guatemala to visit my sister the 14th-28th. I figure i'll try to get some runs in but nothing much. I feel like I got some good miles in this summer though.
